Manga exhibition by Mawadda Edbagi

10th May 25 | 12:00 pm | Unit 79/80, County Mall Shopping Centre

Broadfield based artist exhibits Manga fan art and costumes

As part of the JAPAN! Anime, Manga and Sweets event on 10 May, Creative Crawley exhibited work in Unit 79/80 County Mall by Crawley-based visual artist Mawadda Edbagi.

Currently studying English and Digital Media, Mawadda specialises in digital art and acrylic painting, and is a costume-maker. A lot of her work has roots in anime and manga, producing artwork inspired by popular series including ‘Attack on Titan’, ‘Berserk’, ‘Violet Evergarden’, and ‘Neon Genesis Evangelion’ which are currently displayed, including a costume of the latter. Drawing on her studies of literature, Mawadda includes natural and classical symbolism in her work, though the subject matter is modern. She also produces artwork depicting her original characters, which she is developing a visual story of.

Through fan-art and costume making, she enjoys how creatively engaging with media can bring people together.

This exhibition was on display in Unit 79/80 County Mall from 10 May – 7 June 2025.
