Around The Lake Festival was a FREE 2 day outdoor festival for all the family, with creativity to discover at every turn. The festival took place on Saturday 13 July and Sunday 14 July from 1-5pm each day, with the exception of Crossings by Luke Jerram running until Wednesday 17 July.
Over 3500 people attended. 144 people completed a survey. From the survey responses we know: 78.9% of respondents were from Crawley.
For 27.78% of respondents, this was their first time at an arts and cultural experience.
Similarly. 39.6% of respondents had attended a Creative Playground event in the last six months, while 35.4% never had engaged with Creative Playground previously.
The good news is that 88.6% said Around The Lake had inspired them to see or participate in events more frequently than usual.
Passing people were really pleased to see it going on in the park and that it was free. One customer said ‘it is brilliant that this is free because we can’t afford to go to the theatre and things like that so wouldn’t come in it otherwise’.
All activity at the festival was FREE.

Our programme is decided with and for Crawley residents. We have chose the events based on conversations with residents through our Programming Parties, by responding to our themes set by Crawley residents and using the Theory of Change as a criteria for programming.
