We are inviting ten local* Crawley people to experience a spectacular immersive exhibition exploring the history of the fashion runway shows. It is called Vogue: Inventing The Runway at the Lightroom in King’s Cross, London.
We will travel to London together from Crawley, visit the exhibition and talk about what we experienced on the train journey back to Crawley.
About the exhibition
With first-hand testimony and a rich mixture of media, Inventing the Runway reveals how fashion shows became the ultimate statement of a designer’s vision – at times, a walking expression of their identity – reimagined season after season and year after year. It is a celebration of the imagination, discipline and passion that has revolutionised how we experience fashion.
Inventing the Runway will bring us inside fashion shows – on the front row and behind the scenes – transporting audiences through locations and eras. Fashion shows began as a way of seeing clothes in motion, on the body, at the convergence of modernism and the birth of moving image. Today, they are global events fusing art, technology and celebrity. With Lightroom’s four-storey walls as a 360-degree canvas, you can experience and interact with designers’ visions up close, in new ways and at unprecedented scale.

How will we get there?
We will travel on the train from Crawley to London and there will be max. 15 minutes of walking.
