Workshop: Poetry and open mic event with Woodzy

Want to learn how to write poetry with Woodzy and then get a chance to perform it in a low key open mic event? Look no further.

Woodzy is a rapper and spoken word artist who studied at the Brit School and lives in Surrey. The award-winning poet and workshop facilitator has recently been featured on the Bafta Award-winning Sky Arts TV show, Life & Rhymes, hosted by Benjamin Zephaniah as well as performing at Wembly Arena in partnership with Sky Sports.

From opening for UK grime artist Stormzy to achieving over a million views for his 90’s Baby poem, Woodzy has created his own style. He first worked with Creative Crawley during the Right Here festival in January 2021 and since then has worked in partnership with Crawley Town Community Foundation, Manor Royal and many other Crawley people. 

From 12 – 1pm take part in a workshop and write some poetry.

From 1 – 2pm get a chance to perform in a low key open mic event in the foyer of Unit 79/80 County Mall.

Just turn up and take part for free.
