Join Creative Playground Co-Project Director Sophie Eustace for a workshop which looks at the basics of setting and running budgets. Learn how the figures can catalyse an idea and how the numbers on the page are essential to shaping a project.
The session will go through step-by-step how to budget the income and expenditure of a project (how to cost different things that need to be paid for and predict the income potential of the project), how to present the figures and how to run the budget leading up to and during delivery of an idea.
No need for maths skills and no prior experience necessary! This bite sized session will involve practical tasks to build your confidence in using a budget as a vital and creative tool in making your project happen.
Before working with Creative Crawley, Sophie was a Senior Relationship in the London Theatre Team at Arts Council England, where she helped to allocate and monitor millions of pounds of funding. Prior to that as Executive Director at arts company Fevered Sleep she had experience of running budgets of over £500k. She is not a trained accountant but has learned during her 25+ years in the sector how rewarding and creative finances can be. Overseeing the finances at Creative Crawley is one of her favourite parts of the job.
