What's On

Showcase: Woodzy & Friends: October

16th Oct 24 | 6:30 pm | Crawley College, College Road, Crawley, RH10 1NR

Do you have a creative job and live in Crawley, West Sussex or Surrey? Do you want to share some of your creative ideas in front of a kind and generous audience?

Each month, we curate an evening of local talent, from music to theatre, films to art installations. This is an opportunity to share your ideas and/or experience the local creative scene.

Come along and meet other creatives, find out what’s going on creatively locally and have the opportunity to share your thoughts and ideas with likeminded people.

The event is hosted by local spoken word artist and rapper Woodzy and the rest of the line up will be announced in the run up to the night. For October we’re excited to welcome Beth Williams and Enkay Rockson.

Beth Williams (she/they)
Beth is a disabled multi-disciplinary artist who specialises in Knitwear, Living Textiles and Soft Sculpture. They are a Graduate from both Central Saint Martins BA Fashion Design with Knitwear (2022) and Royal College of Art MA Fashion (2023). Their practice centres around their experience of an inaccessible world, as well as the relationship between human and environmental sustainability.

Enkay Rockson (she/her)
Enkay is a singer, songwriter & creative who is currently based in Horley. She would describe her music as alternative R&B, however, she also categorises her music as ‘versatile’ as she draws inspiration from a wide range of sounds. She does live performances in and around London and writes and records most of her songs from her home in Surrey. Enkay grew more of a connection to Crawley when she and her family moved within Surrey from Ashtead to Horley. She worked in Crawley briefly and really enjoyed it, particularly seeing the diverse communities and cultures within Crawley. She is looking forward to seeing creativity being prioritised within West Sussex and Surrey and is excited to share her knowledge as the roles within creativity grow and evolve within the modern world.
