Playmakers are people who participate in and influence Creative Playground as volunteers. They attend regular meet ups to work with us to decide what happens in the programme.
This work is grounded in the here and now. We focus on Crawley’s neighbourhoods, stories and communities – bringing creativity into familiar spaces and everyday moments. It’s about working side-by-side with local people to shape meaningful experiences right where they live.
You can take part as little or as much as you want to.
If you want to influence how Crawley can be more creative, then volunteering with us could be for you.
We want to help Crawley residents develop their creative instincts, abilities and ideas.
We host regular events to introduce new people to Creative Crawley; parties, open days, feasts and more. There are so many different ways you can get involved.
Open Day: Sat 25th July, 12 noon – 5pm (drop in and stay as long as you want). More info HERE.
National Festival of Play, Playmaker meeting: Thurs 6th August 6.30pm, County Mall Shopping Centre. Sign up HERE
We also offer a range of paid opportunities once you have been working with us as a volunteer for a few months. You can find out about all the current paid jobs HERE and sometimes we offer small micro-commissions to help residents get ideas off the ground. Find out more HERE.
You are invited to join a new group of Playmakers that will work with us specifically to develop a new festival for Crawley – in 2027 we will produce The National Festival of Play; a Town-Wide Festival celebrating the different communities and identities in Crawley through high quality arts activity. Find out more HERE
This idea has been developed through conversations with residents over the last few years. Please join us to help shape the festival.
If you’d like to get involved, give us a call or Whats App us on 07951122157, or send an email to [email protected]
We’d love to hear from you.
