West Green Window Commission

From the beginning of April to the end of June 2025, Creative Crawley is teaming up with Theatre Centre to test how a temporary creative makerspace could work in a former community centre in West Green, Crawley. 

As part of the transformation of the community  we are looking for creative practitioners to create an eye-catching installation inside a former bin store in the building. The bin store is being transformed into a beautiful glass display box, and will have a polycarbonate large window frontage and a small space behind the window to create something magical inside.

The community centre is opposite Crawley Hospital. The West Green window is the only part of the building that can be seen from the street and we are looking for two artists to create a month-long installation in the space that makes people stop, look and wonder ‘what on earth is going on inside the building’.

We are looking for up to 2 installations, each of which will be installed for one month at a time across May and June 2025.

The fee

• There are two commissions of £1000 each. It is expected that this will cover up to 3 days work and include all materials and travel or other costs.
