Six New Trustees Join Creative Crawley’s mission to Champion Creativity for Everyone, Every Day in Crawley

Creative Crawley is delighted to welcome six new trustees to our board who bring a powerful mix of experience across youth work, cultural placemaking, digital inclusion, planning, higher education and audience development.. As a cultural charity rooted in the town, we champion creativity as a driver of connection, wellbeing and local pride — working with artists, communities and partners to bring high‑quality cultural experiences to everyday spaces. Our new trustees join an already strong board of six existing members, chaired by Lorraine LeCourtois, Managing Director at Battersea Arts Centre, further strengthening the leadership that guides our vision and growth.

Billy Lewis (Crawley Community Youth Service) brings a passion for community development and “a commitment to strengthening community engagement,” while Charis Edwards (Brighton Student Union) adds her values‑driven approach to governance and is “excited to focus on equality for all.”

Aniqa Rahman (Hertfordshire County Council)  joins with a clear mission to “break down barriers” so more people feel confident stepping into creative spaces, and Helen McAleer (Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts, University of Sussex) brings three decades of cultural sector expertise, particularly in cultural placemaking.

Vestalia Chilton (Urban Planner & Culture-led strategy consultant) adds her belief in the power of culture during regeneration, sharing that she is “proud to be part of this journey alongside the Creative Crawley team,” and Kevin Quilty (Worthing Theatres and Museum) brings deep local pride and audience development expertise, saying he is “excited to help grow audiences.”

Our existing board members; Toby Shaw (Crawley Community Action), Adam Joolia (AudioActive and soon to be CEO of Youth Music), Joanne Folwell (Chichester College Group) and Deputy Chair Sophie Cornell (National Theatre) welcome the new Trustees and we cannot wait to work with them all.

Together, they help power Creative Crawley’s ambition to make quality creativity happen for everyone, everyday in Crawley.
