Sarah is a Resident Artist at Unit 79/80 County Mall.
These studios have been developed in thoughtful collaboration with the artists themselves. She shared her excitement about the residency:
“I have always wanted a studio in Crawley and it’s been almost impossible to find a suitable space. I am about to work on a photography series for Creative Crawley and a large painting commission for a museum, so it is perfect timing to have the space in County Mall. I’m so excited for this new chapter and to share with Beth and Karl! It’s so lovely to have a creative community in Crawley and I can’t wait to see what more connections come from this.”
Sarah Maple is an award winning visual artist known for her bold, brave, mischievous and occasionally controversial artworks that challenge notions of identity, religion and the status quo. Much of Maple’s inspiration originates from her mixed religious and cultural upbringing.

Sarah first worked with us on the Right Here festival in 20/21 and since then has been part of setting up the Crawley Creatives.
In 2025, we commissioned Breakfast Scene her collaboration with Meg Mosely – a fantastic, feminist film reimagining of comedy duo Morecambe and Wise’s iconic 1976 Breakfast Sketch and Domestic Abyss their accompanying exhibition inspired by the film. We showed the film and exhibition in Unit 79/80 County Mall, Crawley.
