Creative Crawley presents the world premiere of a brand-new short film, Crawley: Against All Odds, as part of the Crawley Fusion Mela, a weekend of live entertainment and community celebration.
Crawley Fusion Mela – Full Saturday Line-Up
Crawley: Against All Odds captures the spirit of collaboration and creativity at the heart of Crawley’s community. In collaboration with adults with learning disabilities, the film explores moments of bravery experienced in every day life.
Produced by Creative Crawley, this film is a collaborative exploration of creativity, identity and community in Crawley. Working alongside Dimensions Outreach 3 Way—an organisation supporting adults with learning disabilities—and filmmaker Amara Bjorkhaug, participants created a film that reflects their perspectives, talents and stories.
The project forms part of Creative Playground, an arts programme funded by Arts Council England that empowers local people to shape cultural experiences in their town. Rooted in values of inclusivity, joyful collaboration and shared ownership, the film highlights the power of creativity as a tool for expression, connection and visibility.
Crawley Fusion Mela continues on Sunday 26 July in Memorial Gardens with a free programme of cultural performances, activities and workshops, programmed by Cohesion Plus.
FREE, all ages welcome
